"Three Golden Hairs" is a classic of world folklore; the
story is told in literally hundreds of versions around
the world, from Japan to Mexico.
Tom Lee's retelling, based on the version collected by
the Brothers Grimm in 1812, includes elements drawn
from many other versions.
The story tells of fate and good fortune, of good
matching wits with evil, and of truth rivaling
falsehood. A young man sets out on a magical quest for
three golden hairs and encounters mysteries, adventures,
and, of course, love along the way.
The program includes broad comedy, melodrama, and
thrilling suspense. Children and adults will
listen, and occasionally join in, as the story winds
through delightful twists and turns.
The program lasts approximately one hour and is
appropriate for children and family audiences. |
