“The Speckled Bull” is an epic, astonishing tale drawn from the archives of the Irish Folklore Commission in Dublin. Against the cadences of familiar folktale imagery, with echoes of ancient myth, the story explores the darker sides of fantasy and the power of emotional rebirth. Hearing the story told by Tom Lee, adult listeners slip into a truly compelling experience. Wrapped in the narrator’s contemporary and sophisticated style, the story takes vivid shape in each listener’s imagination.
